Kupets made a strong international impression at the 2002 Visa American Cup, finishing second in the all-around. She followed up that performance with a gold medal on the uneven bars at the 2002 World Gymnastics Championships. She was named TOPs Athlete of the Year in 2002 for her accomplishments. She likes to read, bike ride, shop, and spend time on the computer. She has three siblings: Mark, Chris, and Ashley, who is also an elite gymnast at Hill's Gymnastics. Her father was a college football player and her mother was a college cheerleader. Her brother Mark is attempting to earn a college scholarship in pole vaulting. Aside from gymnastics, Kupets has also been involved in cheerleading and diving. |
