In '94, Podkopayeva added substantially to her medal collection. At the world championships, she won a silver on balance beam and finished sixth all-around. At the European championships, after finishing fifth all-around, she won a gold on floor exercise, silver on balance beam and bronze on vault. At the Goodwill Games, she took gold on vault and bronze on floor exercise, finishing fourth all-around.

In '95, Podkopayeva earned the world championship title in the all-around and on vault (tie); she also tied for silvers on uneven bars and balance beam. Earlier in the year, she placed fourth all-around at the European Cup, but added golds on uneven bars and balance beam, a silver on vault and bronze (tie) on floor exercise.
