Oksana was born on June 19, 1975 in Bukhara.  She began gymnastics in 1982 and is coached by Svetlana Kuznetsova.  Oksana was the first female to perform a layout full-out on FX.  In December 1997 she married Bakhodir Kuranov, who competed in wrestling at the 1996 Olympics.  They have a son, Alisher.
